How to Make Pure Organic Rose Water at Home

All you need for this is a fresh rose. Pluck the petals out and wash them very gently. Next, take a pan filled with water and put it on the stove. Now place the rose petals in a separate bowl, add half a cup of water to it, and place it in the center of the pan. Let it simmer on low flame till the petals lose all their color. Throw out the petals, and there you go! Rich, pure, homemade rose water is ready.

How to Use Rose Water for Hair

Rose water can be applied directly to the scalp either by using a spray bottle or with the help of a cotton ball. You can also add it to various hair masks such as:

Egg and yogurt hair mask:

Check out this article for more information on how to make this mask.

Aloe vera gel hair mask:

Take a fresh aloe leaf, scoop out the gel and blend it. You can also use commercially available aloe vera gel if you don’t have the plant. Check out PURA D’OR Organic Aloe Vera Gel. It is organic and has no artificial preservatives.

Now add about 3 table spoons of rose water to the aloe gel and mix it well. Apply it on your scalp and through the lengths of your hair. Leave it for an hour and wash off with regular shampoo.

Any hair oil:

Another way to use rose water is to mix it with your favorite hair oil. Some good options are coconut oil, olive oil, almond oil and castor oil. Massage the mixture into your hair and scalp before a shower.

Spray directly:

Spray it directly on the hair after a shower to control frizz and add shine. The fragrance is an added benefit, of course.

Remember DIY rose water has a shorter half-life than commercial ones. So it’s better to make a small amount at a time.
